Virginia E. Brown, P.C. | Comprehensive Estate Planning and Elderly Law | Certified Financial Planner

Ms. Ginny Brown has been practicing estate planning and elder law for many years now. Through her law practice, Ginny is able to offer her clients a comprehensive estate plan (trusts, wills, powers of attorney, etc.) that best suits their present and future needs. She offers Medicaid planning where appropriate for asset protection. Ginny is also a CFP®, Certified Financial Planner; and although she does not provide financial plans for clients, this additional education and designation adds further background and knowledge to compliment her law practice. She is also licensed to offer various Long Term Care insurance and Life insurance products. Ginny graduated from George Mason School of Law in Arlington, Virginia. After graduating from law school and prior to starting her own firm, Ginny was the managing attorney for TrustBuilders Law Center in Yorktown, VA for several years, specializing in estate planning and elder law. Prior to working at TrustBuilders, she was a law clerk in the Delaware Family Court in Wilmington, Delaware with the Honorable Aida Waserstein and the Honorable Barbara D. Crowell.

She is, for a third year, the President of Hampton Roads Chapter of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association, an organization which focuses on promoting women in the law and offering benefits to women in the Commonwealth through changes in the law and public policy. Ginny is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Hampton Roads, the Citizens’ Committee to Protect the Elderly and the Virginia Beach and Peninsula Task Force on Aging. She is also on the Board of Directors for Camp Silver Beach, an interactive overnight program with the YMCA. During her second and third years of law school, Ginny was the President of the Woman’s Law Association, the Co-Coordinator of the New Student Orientation and the Coordinator of the Student Mentor Program. She received the Ann Southard Murphy and Cornelius F. Murphy Tuition Assistance Award based on both her scholastic and extracurricular contributions to the law school. Ginny also volunteered for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, VITA, which provides state and federal tax preparation assistance for low income individuals and families.

Ginny is a native of Virginia. She was born and raised in Melfa, on the Eastern Shore. Ginny graduated Cum Laude, earning her Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Before attending law school, Ginny was an executive at Atlantic Shores Retirement Community in Virginia Beach. It was during this time that she realized how critical it is for families to protect themselves and their children through comprehensive estate planning. She remains committed to ensuring that each of her clients has adequate asset protection.
